Polytheism is the act of worshiping multiple deities and having faith in multiple deities. Worshipping one deity for a fertile land and another one for harvest, doesn’t make sense. If a deity cannot do all of these things, how can we call that deity a God? God is someone who has supreme command over all of the creation. If there is someone who has command over just the clouds, does it mean that, that person is God?
Faith should be the most powerful emotion, so that what we believe manifests in our lives. The concept of faith has been misinterpreted throughout different cultures across the world. Faith is basically a connection we have with the unknown. The unknown can be anything from God to a person or to a goal you may have set on your mind. When we say that God or faith does not exist, indirectly we are teaching our brain that something which has no proof of existence does not exist. So how can our brain believe that our future goals which is non-existential as of now, will come into existence in future? That is what being open minded means, we need to even accept the fact that there is a probability that God may also exist. If we can believe in such a possibility, our mind can believe in anything we want it to believe.
Faith is like a double edged sword, it should be as immovable as a mountain. If we believe that we are going to accomplish something in the near future, and we also believe that we may not achieve it, mostly it won’t get achieved. Even if does, it may not be as satisfactory as we wanted it to be.
The major drawback of polytheism is that our faith gets split among different deities. Instead of focusing our mind/faith on one, it gets divided. Faith should always be a singular, it should not be anything else. Suppose there is someone who worships Thor Odinson. Their faith should be such that, Thor is the supreme power who has command over everything. When Loki shows up, they split their faith thinking that since Loki is also here, they should worship both of them. The connection they had with Thor gets disrupted and the new faith they have may not even be half as strong as it was before. And if more such deities are introduced into the picture, and if people starts to follow all of them, their faith gets weaker and weaker. And when wishing for something to whom you believe is a non-almighty God, should it get manifested in the first place?
There is no problem in having faith in science as well. However, if one believes that science does not take them to places, how can they believe that science will help in achieving their goals? Faith should be blind in such a way that, we need to believe that it will take us somewhere. Else why do we need to believe, whether it be science or God? Our believes should be beneficiary for us. If it is not beneficiary or if it is causing harm to one’s emotional peace, why would they still want to believe in it?
And if people are worried about what other may think about their faith, faith is just an emotion. It’s inside all of us. Anyone outside has nothing to do with it and they may not even need to be aware about it.
The idea of “one god” had to be argued into the Christian church against its very Bible. The greatest advantage to one god is uniformity and control over people. But the Bible says “let us go down and make man in our image, and in our likeness”. And, “man has become as one of us, knowing good from evil—Plural

Suppose God does not exist and like you mentioned it’s a they. Even if we know it’s a they, why do we want to worship the evil one? I mean a person with a right mind does not do that, and even if someone does worship the evil, they may benefit from it eventhough their path is not right.
If there exists an energy, with a spectrum from very negative to extremely positive vibrations, I would prefer to be on the positive side.

Agreed. After examination, which one is actually the evil one, IYO?

Depends on the perspective of the observer. If I’m the observer, then I feel that the vibration equal to enlightenment is the most highest frequency. I don’t know what equivalent term we have in terms of spirituality, I’m talking in terms of quantum vibrations. And at the bottom of the spectrum lies loath and stuff, didn’t look into it, not interested.
I really don’t know about God and Devil, what in trying to say is have faith. I believe that God is introduced so that man can have a blind faith in good emotions rather than the other one.

Syed Shah, thank you for following Tubularsock, “. . . first hand coverage, second hand news.” Tubularsock has reviewed your work and will be follow you as well.
Tubularsock finds your posts most interesting.
Tubularsock has always viewed Tubularsock as god so that pretty much settles that issue for Tubularsock. However searching for God as if God is outside yourself is a rather silly activity in Tubularsock’s view.
It’s an inside job ……. you are that.
Cheers.

Any religious viewpoint that allows one to see multiple points of view about life seems like a wise religion. That would be y definition of this word.

I agree. I’m from India and I know a bit about Hinduism. However, I feel that faith should not be split, the same concept they use in the concept of law of attraction (which I believe is not the entire concept)

Can you cite an example of this law of attraction idea in Hinduism?
